Lesa Byrd - Treasurer

Lesa Byrd is the treasurer for the Blairsville Chapter of the NGTC Alumni.  She graduated in 2006 from North Georgia Technical College with an Associates Degree in Applied Business Technology.  She actually has two diplomas from NGTC - the first one in 1984 in Data Processing from the Clarkesville Campus, and the second one in 2004 in Applied Business Technology from the Blairsville Campus.  She has received numerous certificates as well.

Lesa and her husband, Daniel Byrd, have been married for 25 years.  They have two girls and one granddaughter.  Lesa has been employed with Appalachian Community Bank for 11 years and previously with First National Bank of Union County for over 5 years.

Lesa says, "I have such fond memories of my time at North Georgia Technical College.  The teachers and faculty made my school experience great.  During most of my time at school, I was employed full time and a mother to two teenagers so I had to fit my school time in when I could."

She continues, "There were days when I thought I would never finish.  However, that’s when I received the most encouragement and I will always be grateful to my teachers and the faculty for that.  I want to repay them now by encouraging other students, whether young or old, to get their degree at NGTC.  One is my youngest daughter. I am very excited that she will be attending NGTC Blairsville campus this fall!"
